Study to show yourself approved & IAOTW - Itamiyo

Hey, it’s TJ Miller, you want some game? Let's Tip Unda The Hat!

This week, Study,  Let’s go -

It has been a hard month in hip hop with the passing of DMX, Black Rob and Shock G. These three were some of the best the 90’s had to offer in that genre and before you get all sad, this is a message to encourage; to encourage you to study. There’s a bible verse that says study to show yourself approved. These three gentlemen certainly did that. Now I know I said last week to woodshed, and this week to study (I’m sure my educators out there will approve) and I hope you are getting the point. I’m always amazed at people who say “I want to write a book,” I say oh yeah who are you reading? If they have no answer, then trust they are not going to write a book. Rappers who say I don’t listen to the radio will probably never end up on the radio. Opera singers that don’t practice breathing technique probably have a nine to five and opera is their side gig. In the arts, it’s not enough to study who your favorite artist, you have to study who they studied, then you have to study who they studied, then find out who they studied and so on and so forth. I’ll leave you with an incredible video of Gregory Jacobs aka Shock G as he talks about the cats that he studied and how he broke down who they studied. Enjoy your week and continue to stay safe out there. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeQsQBPe/
