This week, Brand Advocates in the record biz - Let’s go -

First off let me apologize for being tardy, had a bit of technical difficulties and those of you who are also entrepreneurs know that we are everything from the IT department to the janitor to the CEO. Ok so here we go. Last week we talked about the Influencer, this week we talk about the one who elevates your brand through word of mouth, leaves positive reviews about your music, likes shares and refers new listeners and even creates content and contributes useful insights on your behalf. Yes this is the Brand Advocate; and you have them, so let’s utilize them. Here’s how: 1. make all your listeners feel appreciated and like a VIP. When they hit you on Instagram with 🔥 respond back, engage with them, follow them and make sure they know what you got coming up next. Learn to give away a few tickets to your top fan badge holders on facebook, or a shoutout, or at the next gig ask if there are any top fan badge holders there and actually meet them and show them some love. 2. Give them something to talk about, like news of the new single or video and pick a few fans to hold a zoom call with to share the new music with before it comes out. Then ask them to spread the word of how good it is. 3. This one is a no brainer and that’s to be active on multiple channels. Find out where your biggest fans are and focus on that channel. If you TikTok (all of you should TikTok) share those to reels on Facebook and Instagram. Ask followers to duet you on TikTok, then ask your advocates to re-post and share on their accounts. You don’t have to wait for your followers to engage with you, engage with them, especially the ones who are always there, even if it’s a family member or close personal friend. To find true advocates you must be consistent, repeat repeat repeat, and be patient and be you. You don’t have to be like someone else with millions of followers, advocates are fans and they follow you for a reason.
