All about the Lyric & #IAOTW - Bobby Falk at the Jazz jam at Jazz Becuzz

Hey, it’s TJ Miller, you want some game? Let's Tip Unda The Hat!

This week, The Lyric Video, Let’s go -

Ok so you’re finished what that song that you said is your single. Everything in you and everyone around you says “make a video!” Last you checked you have about $500 in your budget and you also need to market said single. All the local cats who can do a really good professional video are quoting $1500 on a low. This is where the lyric video comes in. Lyric videos are a great way to manage your budget, keeps your content coming, adds to your brand identity and continues to keep you creative; and please remember - “content is king!”

We all know YouTube is the best way to reach people and gain attraction to your music, your sermon, speech or business, but again budget is an issue. Budget is always an issue isn’t it? If you’re putting out an EP, a good strategy might be to release a lyric video for the first single, a lyric video and an actual video for the second single, if you have the budget of course. In between these do a few social media shout out videos, then release the EP. This will keep your cost low and get tons of views. Did I say content is king? There can never be enough content. The other thing to know is the more content you have on YouTube you can have a great feeling asking your fans to subscribe. If you only have two or three videos then what are they subscribing to? Believe it or not fans enjoy watching lyric videos that are done right, and you can actually do more than one lyric video for the same song, especially if you have a remix; yep you can have that kind of fun.

Lastly, there's a thing in sports called momentum. Once it’s on your side, you can move mountains. The Lyric video helps you gain momentum as you move toward whatever your end goal is. Additionally, if you are a gigging artist, this helps your fans learn your words and sing along with you, and what a rush that is!!
